PLEASE CROSSPOST~PLEASE FORWARD~PLEASE NETWORK on behalf of the dogs and puppies of Floyd County Animal Control in Rome, GA who are scheduled to die on Wednesday, October 13th, beginning at 8:00AM. Only one dog was adopted on Sunday and one dog was returned to his owner! The others are all in the gravest danger as time runs out for them! They must have rescue or rescue commitment by 4:00PM on Tuesday, October 12th, or they will die the next morning! The good citizens of Rome love their bully breeds--love to dump them to die at FCAC as well. Sadly, we have many pitties in need this week and several beautiful American Bulldog girls in dire need. Of course there are many little puppies--darling babies on death row. There are small dogs and big dogs in need-- one little dachsund mix girl is in urgent need of medical care for an injured eye. Every dog and puppy on the post must have a rescue offer received by 4:00PM on Tuesday, October 12th, or they will die the next morning. If you are on the shelter's list of approved rescues, you may contact the shelter directly to make your offer of rescue, by emailing FCAC welcomes out of state rescues and they are welcome to have dogs pulled for them under the license of any rescue on the approved list at the shelter. On weekends and Monday evenings you may also send your offer to DURING BUSINESS HOURS! Please make your offer as soon as possible to avoid the possibility that your offer may be overlooked in the rescue rush on Tuesday! Be sure to include the words RESCUE OFFER in your subject line so that your offer is not missed. If you are out of state, you will need to be able to pay for boarding for the animals you rescue until they can go on transport. Please ask the volunteers for contact information for local boarding options when you make your offer! As soon as you have arranged boarding, please let them know where you will be boarding your animals, and they will help you to get a ride for them from the shelter to boarding. You must also be able to arrange transport. We do not have the resources to arrange transport. If you have not previously pulled animals from the shelter, you will need to be able to provide the volunteers with these three references: 1) the vet with whom your rescue works most frequently 2) a rescue or shelter with whom you have worked recently 3) the name and telephone number of your local animal control agency. Please look at this list and see if there is even one of these precious lives that you can save! 2391 American Bulldog/Pit Mix Medium Young MALE!!! - NEUTERED This sweet boy is only alive because of the special hold granted to his best friend, the shelter's 'dog whisperer'. He needs rescue NOW! He will not be alive after Wednesday, 10/13--this is his third week at FCAC. He was sitting on the windowsill of the kennel techs' lounge today--was he watching for his angel to come and take him away to safety and love? Don't wait--his life is almost over without you! (He does have a rescuer that wants him but she does not have funds to board or him as she is in school. Please let our volunteers know if you would like to sponsor him so that he can be saved!) Volunteer Petnote: Kortney noticed that his TAIL is broken. He is NEUTERED. We just had him out for photos & visiting with a nice couple. Last week, Kortney, Tommy & Philip had this boy out with 2420 & was not interested in the other boy dog. He is a "low rider/muscular" little guy. Pittie boy was walking around with us while we took photos (Kery,Millie, Philip,Tommy(boy) and you can see 2391 in the 8th photo over with the sweet shep/lab girl 2494. He was just sniffing everybody & being harmless. Part of the time he was sitting in Philip's lap while we took photos just being a distant observer. He is a sweetheart of a dog.
